HWJ Timbers business success, domestic and internationally, is ascribed to our ability to adapt and evolve with current market trends and to provide every client’s needs whether the need may be transmission poles, guardrail posts or agricultural poles (wooden treated-, raw-, creosote- or CCA poles), effectively and effortlessly.
Manufactured to SANS 754/753 standards using premium South African Eucalyptus. Rigorously SABS-tested to withstand a fibre stress of 55MPa (up to 75MPa upon request). Moisture is strictly controlled prior to Creosote or CCA treatment (min 115kg/m³ retention) to guarantee a 15mm solid penetration for maximum ground-contact longevity.
Sourced from high-density Eucalyptus timber and treated under the strict SANS 457 mark scheme. Highly resistant to rot, weathering, and insect damage, making them perfect for heavy-duty farm fencing, livestock enclosures, and crop support. Available in standard and custom diameters to suit your unique agricultural terrain.
Engineered specifically for the road construction sector and treated under the SANS 457 mark scheme to withstand severe impact and environmental exposure. These robust Eucalyptus posts are available in standard lengths of 1.8m (150-180mm diameter) and 2.1m, designed to be driven directly into the ground for reliable highway safety barriers.
Versatile, highly durable timber prepared to SANS 457 specifications. Whether you require precision-cut droppers for vineyards, structural supports for thatching, or safe, smooth poles for landscaping and playground structures, we deliver. All building poles are treated for long-term outdoor exposure and customized to your exact dimensional requirements.
Species like Cloeziana and Grandis are incredibly dense and fast-growing. Their natural high tensile strength makes them the ultimate choice for heavy-duty load-bearing poles.
Our transmission poles withstand 55 Megapascals of fibre stress. That means a single pole can endure over 5,600 kg of extreme bending pressure before breaking.
Under immense pressure, treatments penetrate the outer sapwood, creating an impenetrable chemical shield against termites and rot, ensuring decades of structural integrity.
Unlike steel or concrete, treated timber poles actively store carbon throughout their lifespan, giving them a vastly superior, eco-friendly carbon footprint.
HWJ Timbers provides delivery of our products to our customers right through South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Timber is transported from the plantations to the relevant processing facilities by road. The mode of transport is determined by the customer’s geographical location and negotiated commercial terms.
