Admissions Criteria

Applications for 2027 are currently open.

Learners are admitted through consideration of satisfactory scholastic performance or successful completion of a baseline test. The main requirements are:

Evidence that the learner can perform on their grade level and keep up with our rigorous academic programme.
Evidence that the learner will enrich the atmosphere both in class and on the playground.
Commitment to mutual respect for all human dignity. Parent/Guardian must complete forms on site.

Word from the Headmaster

Welcome, allow me to introduce you to Rand Tutorial College, with the motto – “Investing in Their Future!” - where Respect, Opportunities, Manners, a Positive Attitude, Discipline, and Academic Achievements encourage learners to reach their full potential.

Located on the outskirts of Johannesburg City Centre in Observatory, we are the perfect choice. Close enough to the city for working parents to safely drop off children in the mornings and proceed to work. A true One Stop and Drop School. We provide a safe environment right up to collection at 17:00.

Our dedicated management team and educators have operated successfully for over 55 years. Rated highly by the Gauteng Department of Education, our Matric classes regularly achieve a 100% pass rate.

While emphasis is placed on academic excellence, special effort is made to provide opportunities in sports and culture. We invite you and your child to become part of the success story and family which is Rand Tutorial College.

Since its inception in 1968 RAND TUTORIAL COLLEGE has provided education to thousands of boys and girls.

We recognise the problems and needs within education in South Africa today. We aim to address these for a small group of students to ensure their potential is realised.
